In order to be found for any type of home renovation local searches, such as “kitchen remodelers near me” or “bathroom fitters in Boston, MA”, your company must have a Google Map listing and have a Google My Business (GMB) profile. This is not a difficult thing to do, but you do need to take a few basic steps to let Google know you want to be included in those local searches. The first step is to either add a new listing or claim your listing.
The first step is to look up if your business is already listed using the company name and address. If no results come back, then you need to create a new listing for your business. If a listing is present, then all you need to do is simply claim it.
Once you have claimed your listing, Google will need to confirm you operate your business out of the location you entered. You will receive a post card in the mail that will give you instructions on how to verify your address. You will then log into your Google account, and enter a code which will be found on the post card. That’s all there is to it. You will now be able to edit your listing, add photos, a description, your hours and so much more.
